QA Resume Samples 2026: Fresher, 3 Years Experience & SDET
Three complete, ATS-friendly software testing resume samples — fresher, 3-year manual + automation tester and SDET — plus summary lines, skills sections, project bullets and the mistakes that get resumes rejected.
Recruiters spend seconds on a first look, and most companies pass resumes through an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) before a human sees them. A QA resume that gets shortlisted is simple in layout, rich in the right keywords and full of measurable results.
Below are three complete sample resumes you can adapt. Replace the brackets with your details — and keep everything true; interviewers will ask about every line.
ATS rules for every QA resume
- One column, standard headings (Summary, Skills, Experience, Projects, Education, Certifications). No tables, text boxes, icons or photos.
- Save as PDF (or DOCX if asked) named
FirstName_LastName_QA_Resume.pdf. - Mirror keywords from the job description exactly (e.g. “Selenium WebDriver”, “REST Assured”, “Postman”, “JIRA”, “Agile”).
- Start each bullet with an action verb and add a number: tests written, defects found, time saved, coverage gained.
- Fresher: 1 page. 2–6 years: 1–2 pages. Senior/SDET: up to 2 pages.

Mistakes that get QA resumes rejected
- Listing tools you cannot explain in an interview.
- Copying the same project description as thousands of others (“tested login page of e-commerce site”) without numbers or details.
- Fancy two-column templates, graphics and skill bars that ATS cannot read.
- Spelling mistakes — a tester’s resume is judged harder for attention to detail.
- Missing links: GitHub for automation roles and LinkedIn for everyone.
- Very long resumes with responsibilities but no results.

FAQs
Should a fresher QA resume be one page?
Yes. One page with skills, two or three detailed projects, education and certifications is ideal.
Should I put a photo on my resume?
No. Photos, tables and graphics can confuse ATS systems and are not required by most Indian IT companies.
How do I show automation on my resume without job experience?
Add GitHub projects with clear READMEs and mention the framework, number of tests, reports and CI. Interviewers often open the repository.
Can I build an ATS resume on QA Jobs India?
Yes — the ATS Resume Builder lets you upload your old resume, add a job description and download a recruiter-ready PDF.
